As February comes to a close, it has certainly been a busy month at the airport. Spring began to show herself a bit early this year with some very mild temperatures and beautiful flying days. Our Flight Training Department is experiencing unprecedented growth due to Jack Stevens and his staff’s efforts. We continue to get positive comments from customers about the efforts and quality of service from our line staff. Way to go Paul! And let’s all remember that Bobbie, Crystal and Kris are in the back office making sure all the numbers, notes, bills and forms get done correctly and on time. Thanks team.

New this month at our airport is maintenance! Let’s all welcome and support Ken Haenlein and his team at Sanford Aircraft Services. John Taylor is the Director of Maintenance for their new location here at the field.

We are all looking forward to the coming months of great flying weather and longer days, however, with that comes more aircraft flying and the increased chances of “close calls”. Let’s all work together and exercise good scanning, situational awareness, communications and professional courtesy as our skies become filled with aviators. Some of which will be student pilots.

I want to thank every one of you for coming together these past few months and showing your support for our aviation community. That support is having a positive effect on our airport family. We all must continue to work together in partnership to maintain this momentum that we have started.

As always, Fly Safe, and focus on the fundamentals.
