What a great party!
It was a beautiful slightly breezy Halloween afternoon, the team at Moore County Airport sponsored a massive “Trick or Treat” for community kids.
About 500 toddlers and teenagers came to the airport to see the planes and “treat” on amazing abundance of candies. The airport staff had arranged all the airplanes in a circle across the ramp and the pilots decorated the planes in Halloween themes. Some were really spectacular. Dr. Barry Buchele was handsome in his “TV Doctor” General Hospital outfit. Jay Jarvis had his Baron guarded by an angel with a halo (I could use an angel when I fly). Maura Berman had her Cirrus with a witch smashed on to the prop like a bug on the wings. Total Flight brought out a Cessna trainer and their Robinson helicopter which had long lines to get in the cockpit. Ken Haenlein has his beautiful Stearman glistening in the afternoon sun. There even was a game room with bean-bag tossing and other events for candy prizes, and the ramp guys gave hay rides behind the airport’s giant blue tractor. A great event and another example of ways in which public-spirited flyers keep giving back to the local communities.
